The Crucible by Arthur Miller Essay Example for Free

The Crucible by Arthur Miller Essay Arthur Miller composed a play called The Crucible in the mid 50s. Despite the fact that the content in the play recounts to the narrative of a portion of The Salem Witch Trials, there is proof which shows that Miller obviously interfaces his own socialist preliminary by McCarthy to the over the top preliminaries of the witches. Because of this shocking demonstration towards him from the forces inside society, Miller chose to compose a play to show his own point of view of 1950s society to the individuals of America. The setting of Act 3 can be deciphered as an assault on the seriousness of the experts in Salem and 1950s America. Right off the bat, toward the start of Act Three, the stage bearing says two high windows. This stage course is truly utilized only for chiefs to have a decent impression of what the stage ought to resemble from Millers perspective. In any case, in the event that you look at the entire stage headings cautiously, it says that other than the daylight, the entire room is dull and that the preliminaries are being held in that room. This represents the specialists of Salem are vile in light of the fact that they accept that what they is doing is heavenly and just; however they are furtively concealing endlessly from God. The obscurity represented by the dim room and the light emitted by the window, shows that God is available and that they can't avoid him. The windows being high proposes that God and equity are extremely difficult to reach. This shows for expert in the public eye to really arrive at the blessed and simply reality that they want, they despite everything have far to go. This identifies with Millers experience since he was attempting to state that America in 1950s was similarly as degenerate as the witch preliminaries in 1692, consequently saying that since 1692 until 1950 society hasnt proceeded onward to be all the more reasonable or all the more just. Mill operators assault recommends that there is as yet far to go until society can be really called reasonable. Furthermore, the manner in which Miller has set out a portion of the characters, for example, their language or their manner of speaking is likewise an assault on society. I think this is because of the impressions radiated by the characters that the vast majority would typically decipher them as being acceptable individuals, however Miller shows that they are most certainly not. One model is Judge Hathorne. On page sixty-seven he asks Martha how she realizes that she isn't a witch , this shows he is attempting to deceive her in expressing the things he needs her to. This gives us that for Hathorne to get what he needs he needs to stoop down to a degree of dishonesty, which is extremely low for an individual of his status. This represents the way that the authority are being tricky on the grounds that they do what they are attempting to free society from carrying out wicked things. This point associates with the McCarthy preliminaries of Miller since Judge McCarthy likewise needed to stoop so low, by utilizing dangers. Mill operator had the decision of either naming names or get demolished. Thirdly, I accept that the path a portion of the individuals dress likewise shows how Miller assaults society. This is on the grounds that Miller needed us to realize how force can degenerate us so he demonstrated all the wicked individuals by the garments they wore and furthermore their garments gave us how much force they had. One model is again Judge Hathorne. I state this on the grounds that in the court Hathorne goes about however he see fit to his mindfulness that no one in the court could topple him. Mill operator utilizes this to attempt to show the crowd how force can make individuals act and misuse it, and much more so in the event that it is bolstered by everybody in the public eye concurring with everything Hathorne needed to state. Hence giving us that force can be utilized wastefully whenever given to an inappropriate people. This is a connect to Arthur Millers individual involvement with the McCarthy preliminary since he accepted that Judge McCarthy let his capacity impede decency and equity. The individuals of America upheld McCarthy simply like the individuals of Salem. In the assume Miller uncovered societys job in assisting with censuring individuals by indicating Parris supporting Hathorne. Mill operator shows that this took care of Hathornes sense of self much more, and in this manner Miller appeared to accept that McCarthy was an inept individual since he mishandled his capacity simply like Judge Hathorne. This is an assault on society since Miller is stating that society ought to be considerably progressively cautious about giving such a great amount of capacity to somebody who didnt merit it. Likewise he urges society to consider what they were doing before offering backing to somebody dishonorable a nd boosting their conscience. This court scene presents honest characters taking a chance with their lives so as to come clean is by all accounts an assault on the unfairness of Salem just as of 1950s America. We know this on the grounds that there is a lot of proof in this scene to back the point up. One bit of proof is the announcement made by Hale on page seventy-eight where he says there is a renowned dread in the court. This shows Hale can see that some foul play is going on and is terrified of it. At that point when Hale reveals to Danforth that he is apprehensive, Danforth answers that there is a renowned blame rather and compromises him by inquiring as to whether he is reluctant to be addressed. Later on Hathornes sentiment of terrorizing develops with the goal that he loses control. This shows treachery and is connected back to my point toward the start of the section, since every single Hale wa doing was coming clean with him what he thought was. Danforth appeared as though he was being pressurized so he needed to utilize his capacity to scare and undermine Hale with the goal that he could have a sense of security. This could be related with Millers own experience since when authority in the public arena in America during the 1950s felt undermined they needed to utilize their impact and capacity to compromise and scare individuals. Much the same as when Miller was undermined and gambled being demolished only for having faith in something. Despite the fact that Miller could presumably not hurt anyone without anyone else, this is much the same as the danger Reverend Hale gambled of being hanged only for uncovering the way that the court was an out of line one.

The audience can sympathise Essay Example for Free

The crowd can identify Essay Arthur Miller composed A View from the Bridge as a cutting edge adaptation of a Greek catastrophe, subsequently, Eddies demise toward the finish of Act Two ought to be sad. The crowd need to have sympathy, or poignancy, towards Eddie when he kicks the bucket to make the play a fruitful catastrophe. As per 1.Aristotles meaning of a disastrous saint, the legend ought to be respectable and of high status; he ought to have a defect, or hamartia, which should prompt his grievous closure; his discipline ought to appear to be harsher than his wrongdoing; and he ought to understand that his blemish has prompted his catastrophe. By making his play a cutting edge rendition of a Greek catastrophe, Miller utilizes the character of Alfieri, his depiction of Eddie as an affable and regarded man and an outrageous and vicious passing in the arms of his significant other to cause the crowd to feel for him and to make him a grievous saint. All through the play, Miller gives his crowd numerous motivations to regard and appreciate Eddie. In spite of the fact that there is a lot of adoration (p. 48) for his niece, it is likewise clear that he is extremely defensive over Catherine and truly thinks about her. Eddie and his better half have taken Catherine in and have given her a cherishing and caring home to live in. Likewise, Eddie appears to be well known inside his locale, is loved by Louis and Mike and is portrayed by Alfieri as great a man as he must be in a real existence that was hard and even. (p. 26) Eddie is regarded both in the house, since he is leader of the family unit, and in the network. This shows he is really a respectable individual, with high status in the Italian-American people group. He is the main individual in the family who works; he is the supplier for the family. Mill operator shows how dedicated Eddie is on the grounds that he needs to procure a living for his entire family and regardless of the slip-ups he makes, both Catherine and Beatrice love him until he bites the dust toward the finish of the play. Many may feel frustrated about Eddie even without the melody, Alfieri, being there to lead the crowd however the play. In the start of the play, when Beatrice tells Eddie, Shes found a new line of work. (p. 18), Eddie appears to be stunned and says to Catherine Its not wonderfulYou cannot accept no position. Why didnt you ask me before you accept a position? (p. 18). This statement shows the crowd that Eddie dislikes this and doesn't need his niece to leave him, despite the fact that Beatrice and Catherine had needed Eddie to be glad about this. At the point when Beatrice discloses to Eddie that Catherine will win fifty dollars every week (p. 18), Eddie is shocked and his desire of Catherine acquiring more than he does turns out to be increasingly more evident all through the discussion. Later on in the conversation, Eddie says I need you to be in a pleasant office. Possibly a legal counselors office somewhere in New York in one of them pleasant structures. (p. 19). This negates what Alfieri says in first experience with the play In this area to meet a legal counselor or a minister on the road is unfortunate. Were just idea of regarding calamities, and theyd rather not get excessively close. (p. 11). Later on in the play, when Catherine became hopelessly enamored with Eddie, Eddie gets much progressively jealous and furious. In his discussion with Catherine, he says He [Rodolpho] weds you hes go the option to be an American citizenThe fellow is lookin for his break, that is all hes lookin for. (p. 41). This shows how furious Eddie is at the way that Catherine likes Rodolpho, and not him. Mill operator enables the crowd to identify with Eddie in this scene by making Catherine trust Rodolpho rather than Eddie. To a cutting edge crowd, there might be a few highlights in Eddie that are hard not to hate. His defect includes love for a young lady he has raised as though she was his own little girl, a horrible untouchable. Likewise, Eddie is a parental figure who appears to anticipate that ladies should accomplish local work for him. Unfortunate legends typically perceive their own slip-ups. In Greek catastrophes, this is the second in a play when the terrible legend values their own shortcoming and their own obligation. Nonetheless, all through the play, Eddie doesn't admit to himself reality with regards to adoring Catherine. Despite the fact that Beatrice attempts to make him face this reality by saying You need somethin else, Eddie and you can never have her (p. 83), Eddie appears to be really stunned and gets a handle on his head just as it would blast (p. 83). All through the play, Eddie never truly appears to be equipped for confronting what he feels or conceding his duty. Indeed, even toward the finish of the play, Eddie says, Marco, mention to them what a liar you are! (p. 84) To attempt to keep the crowd from making cruel decisions of Eddie, Miller utilizes Alfieri as a kind of ensemble in the play. In Greek disasters, the tune are eyewitnesses who judge activities reasonably. They help the crowd to think about the components of the play. As the chorale, Alfieri identifies with Eddie, alongside the crowd. He communicates his sentiments and contemplations to the crowd about what occurs all through the play and gives judgment. In the play, Alfieri proposes that it is ordinary and human to sin. He likewise expresses that numerous individuals have shrouded liable insider facts however there is something delightful in a man whose wrongdoings are so open thus certain that he turns out to be completely known (p. 85). Before Eddie calls the migration office, Alfieri cautions him that even the individuals who comprehend will betray you (p. 67), which shows that Eddies shortcoming isn't extraordinary, however that others despite everything will pass judgment on him. At that point, with Eddie kicking the bucket in front of an audience, Alfieri parts of the bargains saying, I admit that something unreasonably unadulterated calls to me from his [Eddies] memoryfor he permitted himself to be completely known and for that I figure I will cherish him (p. 85) as it were, since we as a whole have liable mysteries yet figure out how to keep them covered up inside, there is something very unadulterated in an individual whose blameworthy insider facts are not obscure. A confusing expression Miller utilized, unreasonably unadulterated (p. 85), shows that Alfieri needs us to consider our own shortcomings and not judge Eddie too cruelly. Another normal element of Greek catastrophe is that the demise ought to appear to be unsurprising, and that it can't be halted. Mill operator utilizes Alfieri to recommend this to the crowd, as though it is wild of the character. Directly from the earliest starting point, Miller makes it evident that Eddie would kick the bucket at long last. Alfieri holds offering pieces of information to the crowd about Eddie being bound to bite the dust, saying he felt frail and watched it run its wicked course. (p. 12) Another statement from Alfieri is, I knew where he [Eddie] was setting out toward, I knew where he was going to end. (p. 50) These statements cause us to feel greater pity for Eddie in light of the fact that, in any event, when he appears to be cheerful and adoring, we despite everything realize he is going towards a wicked (p. 12) end. Mill operator effectively makes Eddie a thoughtful character by making him fit the lamentable legend he should be. The crowd goes from appreciating Eddie to becoming more acquainted with his horrendous liable mystery. Through the entire play we get the unescapable inclination that he is going towards his wicked end and that it is his liable mystery that will cause it. In spite of the fact that for some advanced theater crowds, Eddie may appear to be a good old man and despite the fact that he never truly concedes his own flaws, Miller utilizes Alfieris character to ensure we can in any case have the planned sympathy. I think this is Millers most prominent accomplishment in this play, advising us that we are on the whole human, liable here and there, and that we should feel frustrated about ourselves and Eddie for that.

For centuries, hallucinogens or psychedelics, have been used by people in many cultures for religious rituals, by artists to spark creativity, or for recreation.?? The reasons people try hallucinogens are varied, but for most, they alter perception, thoughts, and feelings. Though most are not addicting, some may be, and there may be some risks and benefits involved with hallucinogenic use. Common Uses Hallucinogenic and dissociative drugs are used for a variety of reasons. Five common uses are highlighted below. Recreational Use Hallucinogenic and dissociative drugs are used for social and recreational use.?? People may use hallucinogens to deal with stress or to try to achieve an enlightened state of mind. Some may take hallucinogenic drugs simply to escape lifes troubles or to relieve boredom. Spiritual Pursuits Hallucinogens are sometimes used in spiritual pursuits to produce mystical visions or simply to induce a detachment from reality in order to be closer to mythical beings. Historically, hallucinogens  were used in shamanic practices of indigenous cultures and is even incorporated in religions such as that of the Native American Church.?? Artistic Inspiration Writers, poets, and artists have used hallucinogens and other drugs through the decades to find creative inspiration.?? Therapeutic Uses People who have mental or emotional issues might try hallucinogens simply to alter their state of mind. In fact, hallucinogens have been investigated as a form of therapy for some.?? Although not approved for such use at this time, some hallucinogenic drugs have been scientifically tested to see if they might have therapeutic effects in mood, substance use, and anxiety disorders. 6 Types of Hallucinogens and How They Work Scientific Research According to research published in 2017, anecdotal reports and small studies have suggested that ayahuasca may be a potential treatment for substance use disorders and other mental health issues, but no large-scale research has verified its efficacy.?? How They Work Research suggests that hallucinogens work, at least partially, by temporarily disrupting communication between chemical systems throughout the brain and spinal cord.?? Some hallucinogens interfere with the action of the brain chemical serotonin. Serotonin can affect mood, sensory perception, sleep, hunger, body temperature, sexual behavior, and muscle control.   Other hallucinogens interfere with the action of the brain chemical glutamate. Commonly Used Drugs Hallucinogens can be found in some plants and mushrooms or can be human-made. LSD, psilocybin, peyote (mescaline), DMT, khat, and ayahuasca cause emotions to swing wildly and real-world sensations to appear unreal, sometimes frightening.?? Hallucinogens in the subcategory of dissociative drugs include phencyclidine (PCP), ketamine, dextromethorphan, and Salvia. How Psychedelic or Hallucinogenic Drugs Work Effects and Risks Hallucinations or experiences while under the influence of hallucinogens are commonly referred to as trips. Trips can begin within 20 to 90 minutes of ingesting a hallucinogen and last for about six to 12 hours. For Salvia, trips can happen in less than a minute and last less than 30 minutes.?? Unpleasant experiences while under the influence are commonly referred to as bad trips. Tripping may seem enticing to some, but it can potentially put the drug user in a dangerous situation, psychologically or perhaps physically. Hallucinogens, by definition, can cause people who use them to have extreme distortions of their perception of reality. They may have experiences that look, feel, and seem very real, but in fact, are only in their mind. In completely escaping reality, they can make misjudgments that can affect their safety, like walking off a curb into traffic. In extreme cases, the person may partake in dangerous behaviors like jumping off a cliff because they think they can fly.?? Little is known about the long-term effects of hallucinogens. Researchers do know that recreational ketamine users may develop symptoms that include ulcers in the bladder, kidney problems, and poor memory.?? Repeated use of PCP can result in long-term effects that may continue for a year or more after use stops, such as  speech problems, memory loss, weight loss, anxiety or depression, and suicidal thoughts. Overdose with PCP can lead to seizures, coma, or death especially when mixed with other drugs.?? Other potential long-term effects after long-term use can include psychosis, flashbacks, and perceptual problems. The Different Effects of the Types of Psychedelic Drugs

The definition of globalization given by the writers at globalization101.org is â€Å"is a process of interaction and integration among, the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investement and aided by information technology†. This definition, by all rights is a general, all inclusive statement about globalization and its respective components. However, the fact of the matter is, this definition does not truly reflect the importance and globalization’s true value as a necessary component of most, if not all of major economies and influences. The global economy, as well as many smaller economies such as the Canadian, and American economies are influenced by globalization so heavily, it is a part of the citizen’s everyday lives. In Defense of Free Will - 1055 Words

In this paper I will present an argument against free will and then I will defend a response to that argument. Free will is defined as having the ability to make our own choices. Some will argue that all of our decisions have already been dictated by our desires therefore we never actually truly make our own choices. The purpose of this paper is to defend the argument that we have free will by attacking the premise that states we have no control over what we desire. I will defeat this premise by showing how one does have control over his/her desires through the idea of self-control. I will then defend my argument against likely rebuttals that state that there is still no way to control our desires proving that we do have free will. 1. The Argument Against Free Will The argument against free will states that; what you do is always determined by what you have the strongest desire to do, but you have no control over what you desire. If what you do is always determined by something that you have no control over then you can never actually act freely. It follows from what has been said that one does not have free will. The first statement seems to not make a whole lot of sense right off the bat. You would think that if someone wants to do something but does not do it then they are not choosing their greatest desire. How does your brain tell you what you want? The making of Mr Putin essays

The making of Mr Putin essays In order to ask the question who is Putin, it is first necessary ask what is a politician and what do we really know about any of them. The article The Making of Mr. Putin, discusses the fact that what we know about Russians President is filtered. The images we see, the stories we read are all strategically placed to create a certain image of the leader of the Russian state. These images are supposed to play on the emotions of the voters. The qualities that are emphasized and presented are those desirable by the majority. In essence, Putin is a public figure for a force much greater than himself. Hes the front man of a group of people whose interests lie in ruling the state and deciding in what direction the country should go next. It is pointed out, that Putins goal while growing up was to work for the KGB, a very secretive, powerful, efficiently functioning part of the Soviet state machine. He set this goal for himself early in life, found out what had to be done to accomplish the goal, and did it. It is my opinion that everyone wants to have some power. The extent of the desired power depends on a persons determination and character. Putins determination and qualities required to join the KBG are, in my opinion, what got him to where he is today. The conditions of life and government changed, so he adjusted, keeping some the previously learned tactics, which he could use to his advantage. The article mentions several times Putins lack of leadership experience. Until he was introduced to the Russian people by Boris Yeltsin, he worked in highly controlled positions where his every move was dictated by someone else. I wonder if that has changed simply because he is now the President. It is my opinion that no one person can be the leader of an entire State. Yes, he does have the title, but does that mean that everything that happens within the new Russian regime is decided by Putin. I do not ...

Equilibrium Constant Kc and How to Calculate It

Equilibrium Constant Kc and How to Calculate It Equilibrium Constant Definition The equilibrium constant is the value of the reaction quotient that is calculated from the expression for chemical equilibrium. It depends on the ionic strength and temperature and is independent of the concentrations of reactants and products in a solution. Calculating the Equilibrium Constant For the following chemical reaction:aA(g) bB(g) ↔ cC(g) dD(g) The equilibrium constant Kc is calculated using molarity and coefficients: Kc [C]c[D]d / [A]a[B]b where: [A], [B], [C], [D] etc. are the molar concentrations of A, B, C, D (molarity) a, b, c, d, etc. are the coefficients in the balanced chemical equation  (the numbers in front of the molecules) The equilibrium constant is a dimensionless quantity (has no units). Although the calculation is usually written for two reactants and two products, it works for any numbers of participants in the reaction. Kc in Homogeneous vs. Heterogeneous Equilibrium The calculation and interpretation of the equilibrium constant depends on whether the chemical reaction involves homogeneous equilibrium or heterogeneous equilibrium. All of the products and reactants are in the same phase for a reaction at homogeneous equilibrium. For example, everything could be a liquid or all the species could be gases.More than one phase is present for reactions that reach heterogeneous equilibrium. Usually, only two phases are present, such as liquids and gases or solids and liquids. Solids are omitted from the equilibrium expression. The Significance of the Equilibrium Constant For any given temperature, there is only one value for the equilibrium constant. Kc  only changes if the temperature at which the reaction occurs changes. You can make some predictions about the chemical reaction based on whether the equilibrium constant is large or small. If the value for Kc is very large, then the equilibrium favors the reaction to the right, and there are more products than reactants. The reaction may be said to be complete or quantitative. If the value for the equilibrium constant is small, then the equilibrium favors the reaction to the left, and there are more reactants than products. If the value of Kc approaches zero, the reaction may be considered not to occur. If the values for the equilibrium constant for the forward and reverse reaction are nearly the same, then the reaction is about as likely to proceed in one direction, and the other and the amounts of reactants and products will be nearly equal. This type of reaction is considered to be reversible. Example Equilibrium Constant Calculation For the equilibrium between copper and silver ions: Cu(s) 2Ag ⇆ Cu2(aq) 2Ag(s) The equilibrium constant expression is written as: Kc [Cu2] / [Ag]2 Note the solid copper and silver were omitted from the expression. Also, note the coefficient for the silver ion becomes an exponent in the equilibrium constant calculation.

The Impact of Cause Related Marketing on Consumers Research Paper

The Impact of Cause Related Marketing on Consumers - Research Paper Example These will be presented below. This study employs the descriptive research method, which uses observation, interviews and surveys. In this method, it is possible that the study would be convenient and quick since this paper aims to determine the role of training in cultivating corporate culture in managing quality. Descriptive research could also suggest unanticipated hypotheses. Nonetheless, it would be very hard to rule out alternative explanations and especially infer causations. Thus, in this paper it is practical and reliable to use this kind of research approach. This descriptive type of research also utilises observations in the study. To illustrate the descriptive type of research, Creswell (1994) will guide the researcher when he stated: Descriptive method of research is to gather information about the present existing condition. The purpose of employing this method is to describe the nature of a situation, as it exists at the time of the study and to explore the cause/s of particular phenomena. The rese archer opted to use this kind of research considering the desire of the researcher to obtain first hand information from the interviewees so as to formulate rational and sound conclusions and recommendations for the study. All research will possibly involve categorical or numerical data or data that can be use for analysis to help the researcher answer the research questions (Saunders, Lewis,& Thornhill, 2004). Moreover, Saunders et al (2004), defined quantitative as a type of empirical knowledge. Actually, qualitative data are described in expressions of quality (Saunders et al, 2004). Qualitative is the converse of quantitative, which more precisely describes data in terms of quantity (that is, using 'formal' numerical measurement). In connection to this, this chapter will discuss the research approach, information-gathering method, perspective of the research, the research plan, unit of analysis, the respondents of the study, design of interviewing guidelines, validation of the instrument, data representative and reliability, and statistical treatment of data. Research Approach The research described in this document is based fundamentally on both qualitative and quantitative research methods. This permits a flexible and iterative approach. During data gathering the choice and design of methods are constantly modified, based on ongoing analysis. This allows investigation of important new issues and questions as they arise, and allows the investigators to drop unproductive areas of research from the original research plan. Basically, quantitative method is compatible with this study because it allows the research problem to be conducted in a very specific and set terms (Frankfort-Nachmias and Nachmias, 1992). Besides, quantitative research plainly and distinctively specifies both the independent and the dependent variables under investigation (Matveev, 2002). It also follows resolutely the original set of research goals, arriving at more objective conclusions, testing hypothesis, determining the issues of causality and eliminates or minimizes subjectivity of judgment (Matveev, 2002). Furthermore, this method allows for longitudinal

Human Relations And Organization Behavior Research Paper

Human Relations And Organization Behavior - Research Paper Example Some behavioral rules imposed in the working environment of some teachers have proved to be beneficial to the individual who would have had their personal rights infringed on. The professional relationship between people ensures confidentiality and formality in the service delivery. In the education sector, imposing rules and regulations that affect the employees’ cultural diversity may have both positive and negative effects on the employees. Organizations behavior monitoring encourages a professional relationship between workers hence the teachers are able to have a good teaching environment. This would boost the service delivery of the employees because they are in a good environment. However, it can be argued that for the proper working environment in an institution, the teachers have to relate in a free manner. Organizational behavior regulations may hinder such socialization hence interfering with the service delivery to the students. This is because the teachers and lecturers may become unsocial and hence there would be cooperation and teamwork. In the United States education system, the cultural diversity affects the organizational level of the teaching institutions. This is because, in the planning of strategies in the institution, the cultural diversity of different employees has to be put into consideration (Debra 1996). For example, consultations have to be made between the teachers and the management before new rules are imposed. The attitude and perception of employees in the education sector play an important role in the performance of their work. In a psychological view, a positive attitude towards the teaching profession contributes to good service delivery as opposed to those with a negative attitude.

William Shakespeare :: essays research papers

William Shakespeare, undoubtedly one of the best playwrights of all time, was born in April of 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire. His parents were John Shakespeare, a whittawer, and Mary Arden Shakespeare. He was the third of eight children born to John and Mary and was their first son. They lived on Henley Street in Stratford. His baptism was on April 26 of that year at Stratford's Holy Trinity Church. His date of birth is assumed to be April 23. He went to Stratford Grammar School from the age of seven to fourteen. At the age of eighteen, on November 28, 1582, William was married by the bishop of Worcester, to Anne Hathaway of Shottery. Anne was seven or eight years older than him and was three months pregnant at the time of their marriage. Their first child together, Susanna, was born on May 26, 1583. Two years after that, Hamnet and Judith were born together. Shakespeare and his family most likely lived in the house on Henley Street. In 1592, Shakespeare's theater career took off. Robert Greene referred to him as an "upstart crow", and from that point on, everyone started paying attention to him. Other famous and notable literary critics also commented on Shakespeare. Shakespeare belonged to a number of acting companies in the beginning: The Queen's Men, Pembroke's Men, and Lord Strange's Men. But in January of 1593, a plague broke out and theaters all across London were closed. In December of 1594, Shakespeare has been noted to have started performing again. His new acting company was known as Lord Chamberlain's Men. The decade or so after that, was huge for Shakespeare. This was the time of The Great Globe theater where many of his best plays were performed. During this time, Shakespeare produced a steady line of hit plays, historical plays, comedies, and tragedies. In 1599 he finally became a part owner of the Globe. While all of this went on in London, Shakespeare's family resided back in Stratford, about 100 miles northwest of London. It is suggested that he often made trips to see his family and deliver them money.

Bankers Perception on Islamic Banking

Shari’a supervision plays an essential role in the governance of IFIs. It has different forms at macro and micro levels. (Chris Pierce, 1988) Deposits are strictly not considered as loans in the Islamic sense. If it is in the form of money, then he has an obligation to pay Zakat out of it. If these deposits are indeed loans, then it is the banks which should pay zakat on them. In reality, the banks make the depositors pay the zakat , which is injustice. (Alexandra R, Hardie & M. Rabooy, 1991) M. Norain, Ariffin, & M Adnan explained the perceptions and awareness among bankers in Islamic banks is essential to enhance corporate social responsibility. M. Norain, Ariffin, & M Adnan explained that to fulfill the Islamic needs of the society, proper policies have been developed so that there will be no recurring problems in the future relating to the banking system and investment. M. Norain, Ariffin, & M Adnan suggested that Islamic organizations, Islamic banks are accountable to Alla h and to the communities in which they operate and have a duty to be transparent in all their activities. Ethical investment now recently become an issue in the West, and it is very important in the Islamic world and Islamic Banks must work on these principles which fulfill the needs and commitment to the bankers. (Alexandra R. Hardie and M. Rabooy 1991) a serious question arises that whether Islamic Banks are keeping to the rules about partnerships. In this context some scholars believe that the working partner in mudaraba should not mix the capital of the various suppliers of funds; if this is done then the problem is very serious for the Banks, (Alexandra R. Hardie and M. Rabooy, 1991) Malaysian banks experience economies and annual productivity change on a big scale. The latter productivity estimates indicate that full-fledged Islamic banks have overcome some of these cost disadvantages with passage of time. Mariani Abdul-Majida, David S. Saalb,* and Giuliana Battistic (2010) The separation of Islamic from conventional banking services may allow managers to better focus on improving the cost efficiency of Islamic banking where as in the short run, the new Islamic banks will suffer manyr transitional problems. Mariani Abdul-Majida, David S. Saalb,* and Giuliana Battistic (2010) M. Khan & A. Mirakhor (1991) describes economic system which is based on Islamic principles is permanently have the prohibition on the payment and receipt of interest. This restriction makes Islamic banks different from financial institutions in many ways. Islamic banking system in Pakistan was adopted in such a manner to leave the intermediation role of the banking system undisturbed. Where as the banking system in Iran is used as an instrument for achieving the goals and objectives of the Islamic revolution. M. Khan and A. Mirakhor, 1991) Islamic Law prohibits charging interest. financial instruments used by Islamic banks are not based on profit-and-loss sharing (equity) but, debt like instruments are a rational response by Islamic banks to their contracting environments and debt becomes the dominant instrument. (K. Aggarwal & Yousaf, 2000) Egypt's Islamic banks, while observing certain Islamic precepts in their operations, in order to improve their status, these banks fulfils their social mission by enabling their customers according to Islamic needs. Elizabeth Mayer, 1985) Use of existing Islamic financial instruments such as zero coupons bonds, paper for trade finance and unitised securities. There is a need to encourage secondary market development so that instruments can be traded effectively. (Rodney Wilson, 1991) The scope for development of Islamic financial products is vast enough, such products can play a major role not only facilitating the muslim countries but widely promoting the economic advancement. (Ro dney Wilson, 1991)

It Was Two O Clock - 1365 Words

It was two o’clock in the morning. I heard my brother screaming my name and I knew it was happening again. We had begun taking turns spending the night in my mother’s room to keep an eye on her. Nights like this had occurred so many times before that I no longer panicked. My mother was on the floor seizing because the doctors were still trying to get her insulin dosage correct. My brother immediately called 911 and we waited for them to arrive. What I did not know was that this time was not like before. My mother went into a coma for eight days and when she finally woke up her short term memory was gone. She did not remember her kids or anything about her adulthood. We had to reteach her her entire life after her childhood including the death of my father and her youngest son. She could no longer work because she could not remember how to do her job or anything related to accounting. Doctors were not sure if her short term would ever return and it did not. Even thoug h brain trauma due to hypoglycemia is a rare occurrence, it can occur. Hypoglycemia seizures are also considered a medical emergency. However, they can be prevented. I often replay this night in my mind trying to figure out what my brother and I could have done differently.
